No dia 02 de abril será celebrado o Dia Mundial de Conscientização do Autismo 2012.

Following is UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s message for World Autism Awareness Day, to be commemorated on 2 April:
Autism is not limited to a single region or a
country; it is a worldwide challenge that requires global action.
Although developmental disabilities such as autism begin in childhood, they persist throughout a person’s life. Our work with and for people with autism should not be limited to early identification and treatment; it should include therapies, educational plans and other steps that lead us towards sustained, lifelong engagement.
Reaching out to people with autism spectrum disorders requires global political commitment and better international cooperation, especially in sharing good practices. Greater investments in the social, education and labour sectors are crucially important, since developed and developing countries alike still need to improve their capacities to address the unique needs of people with autism and cultivate their talents. We also need to promote further research, train non-specialized care providers, and enable the autism community to more easily navigate care systems to obtain services that can support and mainstream individuals with autism.
The annual observance of World Autism Awareness Day is meant to spur such action and draw attention to the unacceptable discrimination, abuse and isolation experienced by people with autism and their loved ones. As highlighted by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, people with autism are equal citizens who should enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms.
On this Day in New York, Vienna and Geneva, the United Nations Postal Administration is releasing six commemorative postage stamps and two collectible envelopes dedicated to autism awareness. These tiny pieces of paper — with images created by artists who have been diagnosed with autism — will send a powerful message to people around the world that talent and creativity live inside all of us.
My wife has been very involved with autism awareness and advocacy efforts, and has shared with me inspiring stories not only about individuals with autism, but also about those committed to improving their lives. Let us all continue to join hands to enable people with autism and other neurological differences to realize their potential and enjoy the opportunities and well-being that are their birthright.

Ética Cristã
Para oferecer uma educação completa, a Eccoprime, além de uma educação regular de qualidade, inseriu em seu currículo disciplinas que desenvolvem outras habilidades da criança como economia doméstica, natação, música, teatro, reciclagem, história da arte e ética cristã, todas curriculares!
A inserção de ética cristã na escola vem para quebrar tabus. Ao trabalhar de forma divertida e lúdica, não uma religião, mas princípios morais e éticos, pautados na Bíblia.
Amor a Deus e ao próximo, verdade, respeito, fé, solidariedade são estudados e vivenciados no dia-a-dia escolar. Um exemplo marcante foi a celebração da páscoa, quando o lado comercial foi trabalhado em sala de aula e o real sentido da páscoa foi comemorado, com a celebração da santa ceia entre os alunos e a produção de pães que cada um deles fez e levou para casa para compartilhar com os seus.
Ainda este ano, os alunos também tiveram oportunidade de conhecer o estatuto da criança e do adolescente e o estatuto do idoso. Reforçando o processo de conscientização deles como cidadãos, focando a necessidade do amor e respeito ao nosso semelhante.
Desta forma, formaremos indivíduos capazes, críticos e com valores morais sólidos!

The use of Wii in rehabilitation
Nintendo's Wii video game system, whose popularity already extends beyond the kids gaming set, is fast becoming a craze in rehab therapy for patients recovering from strokes, broken bones, surgery and even combat injuries.
The usual stretching and lifting exercises that help the sick or injured regain strength can be painful, repetitive and downright boring.Using the game console's unique, motion-sensitive controller, Wii games require body movements similar to traditional therapy exercises. But patients become so engrossed mentally they are almost oblivious to the rigor.
In the Wii system, because it's kind of a game format, it does create this kind of inner competitiveness. Even though you may be boxing or playing tennis against some figure on the screen, it's amazing to see how bad patients want to beat their opponent. It´s known that when people can refocus their attention from the tediousness of the physical task, oftentimes they do much better. Patients using this rehab technique are getting improved endurance, strength & coordination.
The most popular Wii games in rehab involve sports are baseball, bowling, boxing, golf and tennis. Using the same arm swings required by those sports, players wave a wireless controller that directs the actions of animated athletes on the screen.

Be Eccoprime: Recycle!
A Eccoprime pauta a suas ações e consumos focada na consciência de que precisamos cuidar do planeta, fazer a nossa parte, afinal, o lugar onde vivemos não é de propriedade nossa: ele nos foi confiado para que cuidemos dele
A escola adotou a uma série de medidas sustentáveis como o uso de energia solar; a reciclagem do óleo de cozinha para a produção de sabão ecológico; reaproveitamento da água da chuva, o recolhimento de pilhas e baterias usadas e a coleta seletiva com o reaproveitamento de material reciclável durante as aulas.
Em uma das aulas de reciclagem os alunos aprenderam as fazer potinhos de garrafa pet. Além de lindos e úteis, eles são sustentáveis!
Segue o passo a passo:
- Corte uma garrafa pet de 2 litros deixando-a com 16 cm de altura.
- Corte um retângulo de eva de 17 X 35,5 cm.
- Cole o retângulo ao redor na garrafa, já cortada, utilizando cola quente. Em seguida o eva deverá ser colado nas entradas entres os pés da garrafa, para dar o efeito dos pés dos bichinhos.
- Agora, use a criatividade, desenhe os bichinhos no eva, recorte e cole na garrafa.Marília Correia
